41. Advocating for Change (Tiffanie Perry's Story) with Catherine Shellman | Domestic Violence Awareness Month
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and for the entire month, we're raising awareness and speaking out against DV. Tiffanie Perry was a student at Texas State University when she was killed by her abusive ex-boyfriend in 2010. Since then, her mother, Catherine Shellman, became a dating/domestic violence advocate.
She founded the non-profit, LOVE, (Leaving Out Violence Everywhere), where she gives presentations to universities, high schools, police departments, crime victim service units, etc. In this episode, Catherine shares information about Tiffanie's life and relationship in the hopes of raising awareness about dating and domestic violence. She also shares tips for how to safely leave your abuser.
